The animals that are shared on this page have been evaluated and determined to be adaptable as pets or as specified in their description and being we take in various species besides dogs and cats, we may have other animals post from time to time.
We do our best to provide animals that are free from health issues and disabilities but there will always be some that are a special need or do have problems and in that case, we will document that in the description along with what the animal will need for care. Most of the animals we take in are abandoned, stray, abused, neglected, unwanted for whatever reason and homeless or in danger of being homeless but do take in surrenders when room permits. Animals once evaluated, examined by a Veterinarian and given needed vaccinations, if needed spay and neuter, and tested for heartworm, fiv/fev, and if needed they get treated for injuries or illness and placed into foster homes where they will continue their care and socializing preparing them for the transition into a new permanent home.
The Adoption procedure is as follows:
If you find an animal on our list or at one of our events, you can ask for or go online and fill out an adoption application and submit it, and once the application is submitted one of the adoptions staff will go over it and if you listed a specific animal(s) they will contact you with instructions for the next step which will be interview and meet and greet with the selected animal(s). Once you have spent some time with the animal(s) and still interested we will then discuss some of their background and needs and what you might expect or can expect to depend on the animal and what we know then we will give you a few days to a week to think about it and prepare for your new pet, and if by this time your still interested we complete adoption contract and arrange for you to get the animal you are interested in adopting. We will then call or contact you within 24-48 hours to see if you have any questions, concerns and how things are going for animal and yourself, and then we will contact you again within a week to two weeks in which the animal should be adjusting or starting to adjust to its surroundings. At this time we can also work with any issues that could be showing up with said animal and try to resolve them. Adoption fees are final and non-refundable and are applied towards animal care and Veterinarian Services of future animals that will come in.
The adoption application can be printed filled out and scanned back in and submitted through email, can be emailed to 40351 145th ave Bertha, MN 56437. If your sending application, you can alert us so we can watch for it to make sure we get it and we can process it as quickly as possible.
